About

Functional Health uses a systems biology–based approach that focuses on identifying and addressing the root cause of disease.

The focus of functional health is on client-centered care, promoting health as a positive vitality, beyond just the absence of disease.

Invest in Your Most Valuable Asset—Your Health

What can you expect when working with a functional health practitioner?

Functional health takes a comprehensive approach to prevention, health, and well-being. It treats root causes of disease and restores healthy function through a personalized client experience — all while being a vital partner to conventional medicine.

When you work with I-HAA, you can expect to feel seen and heard. A large part of functional health involves understanding who you are as an individual, your detailed personal and family history, the circumstances around your first symptoms, and the experiences you may have had with other healthcare providers.

Shivani Doctor, BHMS, MPAS, PA-C

Shivani has been in Integrative Health for over 20 years. Functional and Integrative health were part of day-to-day living and a way of life growing up with her mom and grandfather being integrative Health practitioners. Shivani completed her Bachelor’s in Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery. She went on to do a post graduate diploma in Counseling Psychology. She further completed her Master’s in Physician Associate Studies at James Madison University and started practice in Cardiothoracic Surgery and then in Interventional radiology and Vascular Surgery.

It was while working in these fields and seeing patients come in at the end stage of diseases that she attended the Institute of Functional Medicine and the School of Applied Functional Medicine. She founded Integrative Health and Aesthetics which focuses on root cause resolution of dynamics that progress to overt diseases. Individual biochemistry, focus on foundational health components such as food, hydration, sleep, exercise, stress management, lifestyle changes and natural supplements are some of the ways utilized to reverse the dynamics that progress to overt disease.

Gut Health, Hormone Health, Neurotransmitter balancing, Skin Care, Detoxification, Metabolic issues – such as cardiac health, optimizing blood glucose, weight loss and chronic illnesses are areas she is passionate about and helps her clients with. She takes on individual clients as well as runs group programs targeted towards healthy child and adult eating, detoxification, intermittent fasting and fasting mimicking food plans, foundational health topics, purification classes which delve into concepts of clean eating with healthy food recipes including step by step recipes with pics. She has clients from across the US and internationally that she coaches.

Her aesthetic practice involves an integrative approach in keeping with the philosophy of the practice. She believes in helping patients feel confident by providing access to medical-grade treatments. Treatments are individualized based on each client's anatomy allowing for natural results. She starts with a skin consultation to provide a comprehensive plan of skin care, recommendations for improving skin texture, tone and pigment while improving areas of patient's concern along with facial balancing.

Shivani is committed to continuing learning to bring the best of both functional health and non surgical aesthetics to her clients. She is passionate about offering wonderful self care experiences to all her clients. Her mission is to help every individual optimize their health so that their healthspan matches their lifespan and for everyone to have a great quality of life.
